GONZALES — City of Gonzales is hosting a Christmas Tree Decorating Contest for local groups and organizations. Decorating should occur between Nov. 22 and Dec. 2, with judging taking place at the Holiday Lights event on Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. Those interested in participating can register by calling 831-675-5000.


SALINAS — ARIEL Theatrical in Salinas is seeking community members to serve on its Board of Trustees. ARIEL is a nonprofit organization with a 35-plus-year history of theater education, outreach and performance. Contact [email protected] or call 831-775-0976 for more information.


KING CITY — King City Rotary is collecting toys for the Operation Give Back Christmas toy drive. The club has collection boxes to distribute to businesses that would like to assist in the effort and be a collection point for donations. Those interested in a collection box for their business to help with the gathering of items for the project can contact the King City Chamber office at 831-385-3814 or the Edward Jones office at 422 Broadway. All donations will need to be dropped off at the central collection area at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds by Dec. 15.
