TENNIS COURT

GREENFIELD — The tennis court at the Greenfield Community Park is now available for play. To preserve the court and keep equipment in the best conditions possible for players, the Greenfield Recreation Department will require community members to fill out a free tennis court use application. Use of the court is free for all Greenfield community members. If needed, tennis rackets and balls will be available upon receiving access. COLLEGE ELECTION

SALINAS VALLEY — Hartnell Community College District will have a special election on June 4 to fill a vacancy in Trustee Area 6, which includes parts of Northeast Salinas, Chualar, Gonzales and Soledad. Voters are encouraged to vote early at Monterey County Elections, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or by attending the Books and Ballots event on Wednesday, May 29, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Soledad Library, 401 Gabilan Drive. June 4 is the last day to vote, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and it’s the last day to return ballots by 8 p.m. in person to an official return location. The local voter guide is available online at tinyurl.com/Hartnell-VIG. Voters can check their voter status, including their current residential and mailing addresses, by visiting voterstatus.sos.ca.gov. BLOCK PARTY

KING CITY — A District 1 Block Party, sponsored by King City Police Department, City of King and A&G Plumbing, is set for Thursday, May 30, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the King Street Pocket Park, corner of King and Beech streets. There will be music, food, games, information booths and more. The community can also meet their District 1 councilmember, local police officers and neighbors.
