COVID MEMORIAL

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Board of Supervisors has unanimously approved a resolution honoring local residents who have died from the Covid-19 virus as well as survivors. The resolution establishes every March 1 as “Covid-19 Victims and Survivors Memorial Day” in Monterey County. To mark the first Memorial Day, county flags were flown at half-staff and 700 small white flags — representing the 700 lives lost locally due to the pandemic — were placed in front of the Monterey County Government Center in Salinas.


COFFEE COPS

SOLEDAD — Soledad Police Department will be hosting Coffee with a Cop on Wednesday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the station, 236 Main St. Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and the community members they serve together — over coffee — to discuss issues and learn more about each other.


DAY OF GIVING

SALINAS — A Day of Giving for SPCA Monterey County will air on Thursday, March 10, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on KSBW TV8, Central Coast ABC, and Estrella TV Costa Central.
