CONTEST DEADLINE
KING CITY — The deadline to apply for Miss Salinas Valley Fair is Thursday, March 21. The contest is open to any junior or senior high school girl who is a resident or student of school districts in the counties of Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz, Northern San Luis Obispo, Parkfield and Coalinga. The 2024 contest will be held at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds in King City on April 4-5, and the winner will reign over the 80th annual Salinas Valley Fair in May. BUDGET WORKSHOPS
SOLEDAD — City of Soledad will present City Budget Workshops for the community to learn about the City’s budget process, hear the results of the online budget survey and to give feedback. An English workshop is set for Wednesday, March 13, at 6 p.m. at the Soledad Community Center, 560 Walker Drive. A Spanish workshop will take place Thursday, March 21, at 6 p.m. at Hartnell College’s Soledad Education Center, 1505 Metz Road.
COFFEE CONNECT
SALINAS — Community members are invited to a PG&E Coffee Connect at La Plaza Bakery, a locally owned bakery at 1036 N. Davis Road in Salinas, on Thursday, March 14, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. PG&E will sponsor the coffee and sweet bread, and its Central Coast leaders and customer representatives will be on-hand to answer questions. Attendees can ask anything, including questions about rate plans, financial assistance options, how to understand energy bills or specific questions about their own account. The Mexican Consulate will also have representatives on-site who will be available to answer questions about their services.

KING CITY — A Spring Market is planned for Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the King City Recreation Center, 401 Division St. More than 10 vendors will be selling handmade crafts, candles, unique gifts, food and more.
