SPRING CONCERT

SALINAS — Under the direction of Music Director Danko Drusko, young musicians from Youth Orchestra Salinas (YOSAL) have been preparing for their upcoming Spring Concert on Thursday, June 2, at 7 p.m. at the Fox Theater in Salinas. Students and teaching artists will perform their program, “Music From Around the World,” which will include traditional and folk music from the Americas, Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Dvořák and more. PLAY BALL

SOLEDAD — Soledad youth are invited to an interactive and introductory softball skills event, hosted by the Junior Giants. Play Ball, open to players ages 5 to 13, is a free, hour-long event to learn some basic drills in a fun environment for those of every skill level. LUNCHEON MEETING

KING CITY — Southern Monterey County Republican Women Federated will host its monthly luncheon meeting on Tuesday, June 7, at 11:30 a.m. at King Kora Restaurant, 611 Canal St., in King City. The guest speaker will be Stephanie Panziera, who will discuss the topic, “Alternatives to Public Education.” Members of the club will be accepting and sorting items donated for servicemen and women serving overseas following the meeting.
