HOMELESS PLAN

SALINAS — Coalition of Homeless Services Providers (CHSP) has released the draft “5 Year Plan to Reduce Homelessness” and is hosting a virtual community input session on Thursday, July 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. In early 2020, CHSP partnered with the County of Monterey, the County of San Benito and the City of Salinas to write the plan. The yearlong process included several community input sessions to incorporate the experience of those being impacted by homelessness, both housed and unhoused. Members of the community can access the released reports and plan by visiting CHSP.org/plan-rewrite and may submit input by attending the virtual session (via https://bit.ly/3yMNGYM; Meeting ID 852 6834 1793; Passcode 131782) or by emailing [email protected].

DIAPER DRIVE

SALINAS — Partnership for Children has launched a diaper drive for its member families. The nonprofit organization, which focuses on increasing access to care for children with life-threatening conditions and supporting their families, is asking for the community’s help to donate diapers, wipes and gift cards. The supplies will then be distributed across Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties. Those who wish to donate to the cause can call 831-422-3002.
