TRUTH ACT HEARING
MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County’s Truth Act hearing will be held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 1:30 p.m. at the Board of Supervisors Chambers, 168 W. Alisal St., in Salinas. The local governing body of any California county or city, in which local law enforcement has provided ICE access to an individual during the previous year, must provide information to the public about ICE’s access to individuals and receive and consider public comment during a Truth Act hearing, as required by law. The public is welcome to attend the meeting in person. The presentation will also be televised on Comcast Channel 28 and streamed live online at mgtvonline.org, as well as on the County’s Facebook and YouTube accounts and via Zoom (montereycty.zoom.us/j/224397747).
MONEY MATTERS
SALINAS — Small business owners and entrepreneurs looking to start or grow their ventures are invited to a free workshop titled “Money Matters: Finding and Securing Funding for Your Business.” Hosted by the Central Coast Small Business Development Center, California Coastal Rural Development Corporation and the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce, the workshop will cover financing options, loan application preparation and business plan development. The event will take place Thursday, Jan. 30, from noon to 1 p.m. at the Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce, located at 119 E. Alisal St., in Salinas. KING CITY — King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will present its Annual Awards Dinner on Saturday, April 5. The 2024 honorees are: Debby Norman for Citizen of the Year, King City Town Square for Business of the Year, Rodolfo Tapia for Friend of the Community, and Dalilah Trujillo with the Hermie Robles Youth Award.
