VACCINE PORTAL

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Health Department has launched an online portal for residents to indicate their interest in getting a Covid-19 vaccine and to be notified when additional tiers are opening for vaccinations. This is not an appointment portal, but a way for the county to give residents a better estimate as to when they might be able to receive vaccines. The portal can be accessed at montereycountycovid19.com.

FIRST FIVE COMMISSIONER

SALINAS — Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez announced Jan. 7 that Elsa Jimenez has been appointed to the California First Five Commission by Gov. Gavin Newsom. Lopez had advocated for Jimenez’s appointment last year, having seen her experience for more than a decade and her being from South County. He said her leadership would benefit the community’s smallest voices in the years to come.
