CHUALAR SURVEY

CHUALAR — Residents can now take the Chualar Community Plan Survey online in English or Spanish. The survey seeks input on housing, parks, transportation, safety, local businesses and other community priorities. Responses will help guide local planning decisions. The survey closes Feb. 12. ANIMAL CAMP

MONTEREY COUNTY — SPCA Monterey County will host a one-day Valentine’s Day Animal Camp for children on Saturday, Feb. 14, at its campus in the Claire Jacobson Learning Center. The camp will introduce participants to responsible pet ownership, understanding animal behavior and ways to stimulate pets’ minds using everyday household items. Children will also learn about the SPCA’s work helping adoptable animals find permanent homes. The program is part of SPCA Monterey County’s ongoing animal camp offerings, which emphasize kindness, compassion and empowering youth to make a positive difference for pets and wildlife. HUB PROGRAMS

SALINAS — Alliance on Aging has announced a full slate of February programs at The HUB, its community resource center located in downtown Salinas. The HUB offers educational, wellness and support programs designed to serve older adults, caregivers and community members throughout Monterey County. Programs at The HUB are offered in both English and Spanish and are designed to promote healthy aging, social connection and access to essential resources. February programming includes chair yoga and meditation, memory cafés, caregiver support groups, technology assistance for seniors, healthy brain cooking and nutrition classes, art for brain health, and community gatherings, such as Market Day and luncheons. Creative programs include knitting and needlework classes open to the general public, as well as braille and crochet classes designed specifically for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Additional offerings include bilingual movie days and tax preparation services provided by appointment only. Alliance on Aging offices and The HUB will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16, in observance of Presidents Day. All programs take place at The HUB, located at 236 Main St. in Salinas, unless otherwise noted. Advance registration is encouraged.
