Goodwill drive to benefit local food pantry this weekend
KING CITY — Community Food Pantry of King City is reminding residents that a Goodwill collection drive will take place Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12, at the King City High School Broadway parking lot.
The drive will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, with donation trailers on site to accept new or gently used, usable items, including clothing, shoes, books, blankets, linens, curtains, dishes, kitchenware, bikes and DVDs.
“This is a great opportunity for everyone involved,” said organizer Peggy Keirn. “Goodwill Industries will receive goods that can later be sold to support their programs and residents can clear out their houses, garages and storage units.”
Keirn added that the Community Food Pantry will also benefit financially from the event. “For every trailer filled, Goodwill will donate $1,000 to the food pantry,” she said.
Items not accepted include furniture, beds, mattresses, exercise equipment, large appliances or baby items such as strollers or car seats.
For more information, contact Keirn at 831-320-8678.
