TORO PARK REOPENS

SALINAS — Monterey County’s Toro Park reopened to the public on April 19 after an eight-month closure as the park recovered from wildfire damage. Most trails in the park are open and visitors are asked to stay on and in designated trails and spaces as some areas are still fragile. Park hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. through the summer.


SENIOR SERVICES MEETING

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Area Agency on Aging is hosting a public hearing on Thursday, April 22, during an advisory council meeting at 3 p.m., conducted through Zoom, with planned discussion to focus on services for older adults. The organization’s mission is to promote the social and economic self-reliance of each individual and family through employment services, financial assistance and support services. REBUILDING THE ARTS

MONTEREY COUNTY — Arts Council for Monterey County will host an event for nonprofit leaders to discuss the impact of the pandemic on the arts and how to rebuild a more resilient cultural and creative sector for the community, titled “Rebuilding the Arts in Monterey County.” The presentation will take place Friday, April 23, starting at 10 a.m. via facebook.com/arts4mc.
