SCHOLARSHIP LUNCHEON
KING CITY — Southern Monterey County Republican Women Federated will host its Scholarship Luncheon on Friday, April 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the King City Recreation Center, 401 Division St. The best cooks in town will prepare salads and lunch specialties. There will be a silent auction, raffle prizes and music. The proceeds from this event help fund two $1,000 scholarships for seniors from South Monterey County. ARTISTS EXHIBIT
KING CITY — Sol Treasures is celebrating its 15th anniversary with an “Exhibition of Vision, Celebration and Reflection.” Artists have displayed their artwork to exhibit how Sol Treasures has made an impact in their life and/or career. Come celebrate with them during a Meet the Artists event on Friday, April 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery, 519 Broadway St., in King City. This is a free event for all ages.
DISTRICT ELECTIONS
SOLEDAD — City of Soledad is moving toward district elections for city council, and is hosting a workshop on Saturday, April 15, to discuss the impact of this and to receive input from the community. The City has historically held “at large” elections, meaning that any city councilmember could run for office regardless of where they live within city limits. Now, with district elections, in order for someone to run for a council seat they must live within the boundaries of that district. The workshop is set for 10 a.m. (Spanish presentation) and 11:30 a.m. (English presentation) at the Soledad Community Center, 560 Walker Drive.
