SALINAS — Salinas Sports Complex, home of the California Rodeo Salinas, has hired Salinas native Barbara Causley as its general manager.

Most recently, holding the title of Velocity Tour manager with the Professional Bull Riders (PBR), Causley was born and raised in Salinas and has always been passionate about the Western sports industry. Before her tenure with the PBR, Causley interned at the California Rodeo Salinas and Rodeo Austin.

Her skill set includes budget management, event production, marketing, sponsorship involvement, managing multiple teams to execute world-class events and more. She also developed “Cowboy Safe Plans” during the pandemic for venues across the country to continue hosting events during the pandemic that followed local and regional regulations. The program was later adopted by the National Football League to return to having its events.

“Western sports have been my passion my entire life,” Causley said. “I have traveled the country, had countless new experiences, and been blessed to learn a love for the Western sports industry at an early age.”

Causley’s start date is May 28. She said that she is looking forward to “coming home” and managing the Salinas Sports Complex.

“My career began in this arena, and it is incredibly fulfilling to return to where it all began,” she added. “I am beyond thrilled to work with the best in the business and give back to the community that made me who I am today.”
