GONZALES — A ribbon cutting will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, at 1 p.m. to celebrate the grand opening of the Gonzales Medical Clinic.

The event will take place at the new clinic, located at 133 Fourth St. There will be food, music and a performance by the Aztec dancers to celebrate the opening. 

Gonzales Medical Clinic offers a full list of services, including wellness exams and preventive medicine for all ages, OBGYN and prenatal services, urgent care, ultrasounds, geriatric care, sports physicals, physicals for US citizenship and residency, and care for diabetes, hypertension, asthma and weight loss. 

Telehealth medicine, Telederm services and Telemed psychotherapy services are also available.  

The clinic will work collaboratively with local specialists in internal medicine, endocrinology, gastroenterology, behavioral health, rheumatology, orthopedics and OBGYN, and with specialists at University of California San Francisco and Stanford Medical Center.

“We pride ourselves in serving the agricultural community and underserved patients, and our goal is to improve patient health by delivering healthcare that is accessible, available and affordable,” said Luz Garcia, PA.

In addition to providing patient care, the facility will help train new clinicians and students interested in the medical field and offer preceptorships for nurse practitioner students from the University of California San Francisco and physician assistant students from California State University Monterey Bay. 

The clinic will also offer externships for students enrolled in local programs at the Center for Employment Training (CET), Central Coast College and Hartnell College. 

“The City of Gonzales would like to Congratulate Ms. Garcia on the opening of her new clinic. We are excited that our community will have access to another quality facility for their healthcare needs,” said Interim City Manager Carmen Gil. 

In addition to the Gonzales Medical Clinic, healthcare facilities in Gonzales include Clinica de Salud del Valle de Salinas, Alta Medical Clinic and the Taylor Farms Family Health and Wellness Center. 

Gonzales Medical Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All services are available by appointment, and walk-ins are also welcome.
