GONZALES — Graduates from Gonzales High School finished their secondary education with a drive-through ceremony last Saturday at the stadium.

Families staged in groups in the stadium parking lot, then traveled through to a stage where graduates got out and elbow-bumped with officials before receiving their diplomas.

Teachers and staff were present for the June 13 ceremony, including a group of teachers who held up signs and cheered on their new graduates as families drove by on their way out of the stadium.

Graduates and their families stayed in their vehicles, except for when the graduates disembarked to the stage to get their diploma and official graduate photo, in order to maintain social distancing.
