Letter to the Editor

To the Editor:

May 4, 2004, was the day our lives changed forever. That was the day we found our son, Ricky, murdered. Anyone who loved Ricky will never recover from that horrible day. His sons had to grow up without their father; Ricky’s brother and sister have to deal with his loss every single day.

We have always loved Ricky and we will always remember him. We will make sure that Ricky’s family and friends never forget about him and what a good and kind young man our son was. It would be too hard to put into a few words how our son’s murderer affected us. How that horrible day stays with us every minute of our lives.

The only murderer that was arrested is now free. The horrible monster was released June 25, 2021. How unfair is that? That scum will move on with his life while our son cannot. We hope that monster will never have peace in his life and we hope he suffers every time he takes a breath. Do we sound angry? You bet we are. Do we want justice for our son… of course we do.

I really don’t understand how the people who know exactly what happened to Ricky are still unwilling to come forward. What is it? What is wrong with this world when people are afraid to come forward? That is why so many other young people are losing their lives and not receiving justice.

Then California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger issued a $50,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of all of Ricky’s murderers. We beg you to please call 831-674-5111 or 800-782-7463. You will remain anonymous.
