Letter to the Editor

To the Editor:

I would like to thank all of the wonderful people who helped to make this seventh year of collecting coats to help the homeless people in our county.

Thank you to Jose Sanchez from the Greenfield Community Science Workshop. Jose has been so helpful in making the containers and delivering them to different locations, and for always having a container at his location.

Thank you to the Greenfield Civic Center, the Office at Patriot Park, and Greenfield Fire Department and the Greenfield Police Department for their support and having containers at their locations.

I would also like to thank KRKC for the announcement on their radio station and, of course, the Salinas Valley Tribune for their story.

A very special thank you to Rigo Avila at Avilaā€™s Victory Boxing who took the time to pass out over 300 coats to the homeless in Monterey County. His kindness and those who helped him will never be forgotten by me and those people he helped.

I truly hope all of you kind people who donated the coats and who helped had a very Merry Christmas and have a very Healthy and Happy New Year.

Avelina Torres
Greenfield
