Hartnell College Main Campus in Salinas (Contributed)

SALINAS — Hartnell College Board of Trustees voted to amend the board policy for students and employees requiring the Covid-19 vaccine.

Rather than requiring proof of vaccination to register for classes or to begin employment, the amended change “strongly recommends” the Covid-19 vaccine for students and employees. The change takes effect immediately.

In accordance with county and state recommendations, Hartnell College strongly advises that all individuals wear masks whenever they are in indoor public places. Properly fitted surgical masks or respirators of a higher category (such as N95s or KN95s) continue to be encouraged.

Masks, Covid tests and information about Covid-19 vaccines will continue to be made available to students and employees of Hartnell College as part of the college’s commitment to providing support services.

Covid-19 testing

Hartnell College continues to offer free PCR and rapid antigen testing for Covid-19 to Hartnell employees, students, and the public Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Hartnell’s Main Campus in Salinas (white tent between buildings C and N).

No charge or appointment is needed, although you will be asked to provide insurance information.
