GREENFIELD — Greenfield police officers initiated a traffic stop for vehicle code violations and a DUI investigation on Feb. 27 at about 10:40 p.m. in the 300 block of Eighth Street.

The driver, Florencio Merino Ramirez, did not have a valid driver’s license, and a warrant check revealed he had an outstanding bench warrant for assault with a deadly weapon, police said.

The passenger, Ismael Merino Ramirez, was also found to have an outstanding felony warrant for murder.

Both cases originated with the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office.

They were both arrested and transported by Greenfield officers to the Monterey County Jail for booking.
