SOLEDAD — Over the March 25-26 weekend, Soledad Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop, during which a passenger fled the vehicle and was chased by officers.

Greenfield Police Department also responded to assist SPD with the incident.

The suspect, a 16-year-old male from Greenfield, was eventually captured and found to be in possession of a loaded firearm, with the serial number destroyed.

The juvenile, as well as the driver of the vehicle — 18-year-old Manuel Rodriguez, also of Greenfield — were arrested and transported to the Monterey County Juvenile Hall and Monterey County Jail, respectively, for the loaded weapon violation, as well as other charges.
