Greenfield Police Department

GREENFIELD — Over the past week, Greenfield Police Department received 10 vehicle burglary reports and reports in which vehicles had been damaged from someone attempting to break in.

All the incidents were happening during the night-time and early morning hours, police said.

On March 9, with the assistance of a vigilant community member, officers located and detained James Otuafi, 29, and Carlos Soosemea, 27, both of Soledad, who were attempting to break into another vehicle.

Otuafi and Soosemea were placed under arrest for possession of stolen property and vehicle tampering. In addition, they were both on felony probation for vehicle theft.

“Officers and detectives will work on cataloging the property so it can be returned to its owners,” police said. “This is another example of how our community, and your police department, can work together to keep Greenfield safe.”

To report a non-emergency incident to police, call 831-385-8311.
