GREENFIELD — Sergio Lopez and John Mosher recently spoke to Greenfield Community Science Workshop Co-Director Curt Gabrielson about opening a workshop in Salinas.

GCSW reopened with outdoor activities last September and indoor activities on April 27, and will soon open a new workshop program at El Sausal Middle School in Salinas.

The workshop most recently hosted a bike repair workshop for the community on May 22. Dozens of bikes were available for youth to work on and take home, collected in partnership with area landfills.

Five staff and three volunteers supervised the bicycling event, which drew regular crowds throughout the day.

With Gabrielson shifting to leadership in Salinas, Co-Director Jose Sanchez will seek out a new leader for the Greenfield workshop.
