GONZALES — Last Tuesday through Thursday, the Gonzales High boys soccer team hosted its second Summer Soccer Camp at Dick Force Stadium in Gonzales.
The free camp provided soccer instruction and fun for youth in three divisions.
Boys and girls were grouped in the following age groups: 5-7 years old; 8-10 years old; and 11-13 years old. Gonzales head coach Miguel Vidauri was the event director and was assisted by members of his boys team and coaching staff, along with various volunteers.
“Our goals were to offer a free camp where kids could improve their soccer skills, learn new drills, and have a good time with each other,” Viduari said. “We averaged about 150 campers per day. Typically everyone would warm up, then break up into their assigned groups. We also provided fresh fruit during breaks and water.”
Every camper received a camp T-shirt, and on the last day of camp a raffle was held and the kids had a chance to win game balls, jerseys, key chains and water bottles.
