GONZALES — This past Thursday, May 4, the Gonzales FFA Officer Team hosted the 2016-2017 Annual Awards Banquet. During the banquet, they awarded student achievements from the school year.

They also recognized staff and administration and then finally announced the 2017-2018 Gonzales Chapter Officer team.

“I greatly appreciate the support the staff has given the FFA program,” said Eric C. Morasca, Gonzales FFA adviser. “This being one of the largest student-ran awards banquet, we had many parents and community members in attendance.”

Excluding students, they had 190 extra people to be exact.

The banquet took months of planning, with spending several late nights and weekends with the officer team to write, prepare and create awards.

“Thank you again to those of you who attended,” Morasca said. “Now, we prepare for the Salinas Valley Fair, Sectional Officer screening, American Degree applications and preparing for the Monterey County Fair.”
