SALINAS — Temecula’s Vianette Garcia has been named Miss California Rodeo Salinas 2024.

The competition, held July 6-7 at the Salinas Sports Complex, saw Garcia (Miss Rodeo Norco Horseweek) and four other contestants vying for the title: Kyndal Castle (Miss Folsom Pro Rodeo), Summer Fanning (Miss Old Santa Ynez Days Rodeo), Lillian Kier (Miss Clovis Rodeo) and Kate Richardson (Miss Bulls Only Rodeo).

Kier was named first runner-up, and Richardson earned second runner-up honors.

Contestants were evaluated in categories including personality, appearance, scholarship and horsemanship. Garcia excelled in personality and horsemanship, while Kier won the appearance and scholarship categories.

Kier also received the congeniality award, voted on by her fellow contestants.

As Miss California Rodeo Salinas 2024, Garcia received a $3,000 educational scholarship, a gold and silver belt buckle, a gold and silver tiara sponsored by the Harden Foundation, the use of a two-horse trailer for the next year, along with other gifts and awards.

Throughout the year, Garcia will serve as an ambassador for the California Rodeo Salinas and the Western lifestyle, attending events including rodeos, parades and community celebrations across California.

The Miss California Rodeo Salinas 2024 contest was sponsored by Holiday Inn Express and Suites.
