GONZALES — The countdown to another year of high school football is around the corner, and the Gonzales Spartans released their schedule to prepare fans for the 2023 season.

Last year the Spartans finished 3-7 overall and 3-3 in the league. With quarterback Ray Blanco coming back, there is optimism for this season.

The good news for Spartan fans, the team has three home games in a row during their first set of matchups. Last season they started with four straight road games.

But first, Gonzales will start off the season with an away game against Scotts Valley on Saturday, Aug. 26.

More great news for Spartan fans: all three South Monterey County rivalry games will be in Gonzales. First, they will host King City on Sept. 8, next will be Soledad on Sept. 16, and finally, they will finish the season against Greenfield on Nov. 3.
