GONZALES — Anna Mae Gazo has been appointed to the Measure K Transaction and Use Tax Oversight Committee by the City Council of Gonzales on June 5.

Gazo is a retired teacher who worked for the Monterey County Office of Education with severely disabled students at Gonzales High School. Gazo retired in 2006 and now spends her time creating art.

“I answered this call for citizen involvement in response to the election,” Gazo said. “I feel I must do my duty, step up and do something.”

Gazo will serve a two-year term on the Measure K Committee, which began April 19.
