GONZALES — Gonzales Police officers, Santa Claus and local youth gathered Dec. 15 for the first “Cocoa with a Cop” at the Gonzales Police Department.
The event was in response to the police surveys that went out earlier this year. The results concluded that Gonzales residents didn’t know their officers, and Chief Keith Wise said this was a way to do something about that.
Several officers were on hand to talk to community members and take pictures of youth with Santa while enjoying some hot chocolate, marshmallows and whipped cream.
