GONZALES — Gonzales Police and residents joined together last Friday to enjoy popsicles during the first “Chill with a Cop” event.

The two-hour gathering was held in front of the Gonzales Police Department, where various police personnel spoke with community members and youth on a cool summer day.

According to Chief Keith Wise, the July 13 event was created so that the community could enjoy a popsicle while interacting with police officers at the same time. During the course of the event, community members could share their concerns or just talk with police.
