MONTEREY COUNTY — Although the regular candidate filing period for the Nov. 8 General Election has closed, the filing period for several local offices, in which an eligible incumbent did not file, has been extended until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17.

Any candidates seeking municipal office should contact their City Clerk for extensions.

The following South Monterey County districts and seats under the extension are:

  • Monterey County Board of Education, Governing Board Member (GBM), Trustee Area 3 and Trustee Area 7;
  • Gonzales Unified School District, GBM, Trustee Area 4;
  • Soledad Unified School District, GBM;
  • Bradley Union School District, GBM;
  • Chualar Union School District, GBM, Trustee 1;
  • Greenfield Union Elementary School District, GBM;
  • King City Union School District, GBM, four years and two years;
  • Mission Union Elementary School District, GBM;
  • San Antonio Union School District, GBM;
  • San Lucas Union Elementary School District, GBM;
  • Gonzales Rural Fire Protection District, Director;
  • Greenfield Fire Protection District, Director;
  • Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare District, Director, Zone 1;
  • Soledad Community Health Care District, Director;
  • Greenfield Memorial District, Director;
  • San Ardo Water District, Director; and
  • San Lucas County Water District, Director.

Candidates filing during this period must meet all filing obligations.
