MONTEREY COUNTY — Although the regular candidate filing period for the Nov. 8 General Election has closed, the filing period for several local offices, in which an eligible incumbent did not file, has been extended until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17.
Any candidates seeking municipal office should contact their City Clerk for extensions.
The following South Monterey County districts and seats under the extension are:
- Monterey County Board of Education, Governing Board Member (GBM), Trustee Area 3 and Trustee Area 7;
- Gonzales Unified School District, GBM, Trustee Area 4;
- Soledad Unified School District, GBM;
- Bradley Union School District, GBM;
- Chualar Union School District, GBM, Trustee 1;
- Greenfield Union Elementary School District, GBM;
- King City Union School District, GBM, four years and two years;
- Mission Union Elementary School District, GBM;
- San Antonio Union School District, GBM;
- San Lucas Union Elementary School District, GBM;
- Gonzales Rural Fire Protection District, Director;
- Greenfield Fire Protection District, Director;
- Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare District, Director, Zone 1;
- Soledad Community Health Care District, Director;
- Greenfield Memorial District, Director;
- San Ardo Water District, Director; and
- San Lucas County Water District, Director.
Candidates filing during this period must meet all filing obligations.
