GONZALES — The Gonzales High School varsity volleyball team started the non-league season on Saturday by participating in the Pacific Coast Athletic League jamboree.

The Spartans will host the Everett Alvarez Eagles tomorrow afternoon and play a non-league game with South County foe King City on Sept. 4.

“It was a good chance to get a good look a the dynamics of the new league,” said Gonzales head coach Desiree Baltazar. “It was also a good way to get the kinks out on the court.”
