GONZALES — City of Gonzales has installed new electric vehicle charging stations at the Dennis and Janice Caprara Community Center Complex, expanding local access to EV infrastructure.
The stations are located in the Community Center parking lot at 620 Fifth St. and are compatible with all plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicles. City officials said the new amenity is designed to make it easier for residents and visitors to charge their vehicles while stopping in the area or traveling through Gonzales.
“Whether you’re stopping by or on the go, it’s never been easier to power up locally,” stated the City on social media.
Because of the limited number of chargers, parking spaces are reserved for electric vehicles actively charging. Vehicles not connected to a charger may be ticketed or towed.
The City partnered with Blink Charging to operate the stations. Drivers can use guest charging or sign up for a free membership, which offers reduced rates. Users can also manage charging through the Blink Charging Mobile App.
