SOLEDAD — A male juvenile was critically injured in a shooting Wednesday evening in Soledad, according to the Soledad Police Department.
Officers responded at about 6:42 p.m. on Jan. 21 to reports of shots fired in the 1300 block of Palm Avenue, where they found a juvenile with a gunshot wound to the head, police said. Officers rendered aid at the scene before the victim — described as a teenager by local reports — was transported by AMR to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas for medical treatment.
“A thorough search of the surrounding area was conducted, and surveillance footage is currently being collected and reviewed as part of the investigation,” the department said in a statement Thursday.
No suspects have been arrested, and the case remains active.
“This incident remains an active and ongoing investigation,” police said.
