FLU VACCINE CLINIC
SALINAS — In response to high influenza activity this season, and the emergence of the so called “super flu” strain, Salinas Valley Health will host a sixth free community flu vaccine clinic to help protect residents from serious illness. The clinic is set for Sunday, Jan. 25, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Northridge Mall, 796 Northridge Drive in Salinas, near the food court next to Auntie Anne’s. It is open to the community while supplies last, and no appointment is required. To date this flu season, SVH has administered more than 1,000 flu vaccines through its Mobile Clinic and community-based flu clinics. The additional clinic is being offered as influenza activity remains elevated, including circulation of the particularly aggressive flu strain. It’s being described as the “super flu” because of how quickly the virus is spreading and the intensity of symptoms people experience.
