SALINAS VALLEY — Communities across Salinas Valley came together last Tuesday evening to celebrate National Night Out 2025, a community-building event designed to foster trust, safety and camaraderie.

In Soledad, the Aug. 5 celebration at the Soledad Community Center was a lively success, featuring fun activities, performances and meaningful engagement between residents and local law enforcement.

Attendees enjoyed pie-eating contests, raffles and performances by groups like the Soledad High School Cheer Team, Baile Costa de California Folklorico, Soledad Parks and Rec Karate and NJROTC.

The event also included more than 30 resource tables, food and drinks donated by Soledad Foods Co and cool treats from La Reina Ice Cream, making it a memorable night for all.

“National Night Out 2025 was a huge success,” stated Soledad Police Department, sharing their gratitude on social media afterward. “From pie-eating contests and exciting raffles to energetic performances, the evening was packed with fun, connection, and unforgettable memories.”

The department also thanked community partners, local organizations and residents for their participation, emphasizing that events like these help build a stronger, safer community.

Victim Assistance Advocate Caitlan Zamudio reflected on the importance of the annual event, saying, “National Night Out is a testament to the strength of our city—not just in how we respond to challenges, but in how we show up for one another. It’s a night that reminds us we’re not just protecting a city, we’re protecting a community we’re proud to call home.”

Adding to the festivities, the Soledad Fire Department also took part in the celebration. In a social media post, they shared, “Soledad Fire Department along with some of our colleagues from the CAL FIRE Prevention Department attended the 2025 National Night Out. Always a fun and eventful evening supporting our local law enforcement agencies.”

Similarly, in Gonzales, police officials expressed their appreciation for the turnout: “Thanks to everyone that came out to National Night Out! We had another great turnout this year,” shared the Gonzales Police Department.

Community members also participated in National Night Out celebrations located in Greenfield and King City this year, highlighting the widespread enthusiasm for the event across the region.
