GREENFIELD — County of Monterey Health Department, Montage Health and Door to Hope will present “Community Opioid Overdose Prevention and Narcan Training” on Wednesday, March 6, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Greenfield Civic Center, 599 El Camino Real, in Greenfield. Attendees can learn about the signs and symptoms of an overdose, how to administer Narcan, and support information and resources. The event is free and open to the public. Interpretation services will be provided for Spanish, Triqui and Mixteco.

MONTEREY COUNTY — The candidate filing period to fill a vacancy in the Hartnell Community College District, Trustee Area 6, in the June 4, 2024, Special Vacancy Election closes on Friday, March 8. Candidate forms must be completed and submitted by the 5 p.m. deadline. Official documents may be obtained from and filed at the Monterey County Elections Department, 1441 Schilling Place – North Building, in Salinas. Schedule an appointment via email at Ca***************@co.us or by phone 831-796-1499. Trustee Area 6 includes parts of Northeast Salinas, Chualar, Gonzales and Soledad. COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS

SALINAS — Hartnell College has announced the opening of its general scholarship applications for the academic year 2024-25. These scholarships aim to provide financial assistance to a broad range of students, including incoming first-year students transitioning from high school and continuing students of Hartnell College. Students are encouraged to visit the Hartnell College Scholarship Application portal to submit their application. The process is streamlined to ensure every eligible student has an opportunity to apply quickly. Application deadline is Monday, April 8. Hartnell College is also hosting a series of scholarship workshops at B110 in Building B scheduled for: Wednesday, March 6, from 3 to 4 p.m.; Wednesday, March 20, from 6 to 8 p.m.; and Wednesday, March 27, from 1 to 2 p.m.
