TEEN NIGHT
SOLEDAD — Soledad Community Center is inviting youth ages 13 to 18 to get into the Halloween spirit and attend a spooky Teen Night on Friday, Oct. 28. There will be gaming, karaoke, fortuneteller and a costume contest with prizes from 5 to 9 p.m. Advance registration is recommended at the center, 560 Walker Drive, in Soledad.
DAY OF THE DEAD
KING CITY — La Cocina, an open-air market in King City, will host a Dia de los Muertos celebration on Friday, Oct. 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. at its 815 Broadway St. location. The family-friendly event will include food, music and dancing. In addition, La Cocina is presenting a Catrina Contest on Friday, with the parade and judging at 6:30 p.m. There will be cash prizes for two categories, 12 and under and adult. DRUG DISPOSAL
GONZALES — Gonzales Police Department will be accepting all unused or expired prescription drugs during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Oct. 29. In partnership with Sun Street Centers, prescription drugs can be dropped off at the police station, 109 Fourth St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with no questions asked. No illegal substances or needles will be accepted.

KING CITY — Southern Monterey County Republican Women Federated will be hosting its monthly luncheon meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 11:30 a.m. at King Kora Restaurant, 611 Canal St., in King City. The guest speaker will be Junior Nuno, founder and director of operations at Astoria Shooting Range. Nuno will discuss the Second Amendment and his new firearms training facility in Soledad.
