SALINAS — Salinas City Barbeque is asking customers in 2022 to round up their bill to benefit the independent nonprofit Partnership for Children, which provides transportation and support services to families and their children with life-threatening conditions.

“Salinas City Barbeque is incredibly honored to give back to Partnership for Children. It is an organization that is very near and dear to our hearts,” said Franz Ingram, owner of Salinas City Barbeque. “Our family first learned about Partnership for Children when our daughter Olivia was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2015. Their support during this time is something we will forever be grateful for.”

Partnership for Children is a nonprofit organization focused on increasing access to care for children with life-threatening conditions and supporting their families. It has been providing transportation and family support services for children living in Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito counties since 2007.

“The team’s hard work and dedication at Partnership for Children was very welcoming through Olivia’s treatment,” Ingram continued. “… The trust they build and support they give our community is paramount. We’ve seen and felt this firsthand. With Covid still spreading, gas prices rising, safety is crucial to an immune-compromised child’s survival. Taking public transportation, Uber or taxi rides isn’t an option for many families. This is why Salinas City Barbeque looks forward to working with and giving back to Partnership for Children.”

Salinas City Barbeque, located at 700 W. Market St. in Salinas, operates Monday through Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, call 831-758-2227 or go online at salinascitybbq.com.
