PET VACCINES

GREENFIELD — South County Animal Rescue (SCAR) will host a canine and feline vaccine clinic on June 19 at Patriot Park in Greenfield. There will be fees associated with the different vaccines and boosters. Microchips, de-worming and worm testing will also be conducted, with differing fees. ROAD CLOSURES

SOLEDAD — Road construction will cause intermittent lane closures, with at least one lane open in each direction, on the northern end of Soledad. Lane closures may result in delays, and using an alternate route is recommended by the city. The work on northern city roads will be performed through Aug. 9, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. For information, contact the city’s Public Works Department at 831-223-5000.


HELPING PAWS

SALINAS — Max’s Helping Paws Foundation, which provides financial assistance to people with pets in need of urgent veterinary care, recently received a $10,000 grant from the Harden Foundation to continue its work in the community. The Harden Foundation, based in Salinas and established in 1963 by Ercia and Gene Harden, provides funding to a variety of qualified nonprofit organizations in Monterey County that serve local communities.
