GREENFIELD — Greenfield High Bruins football team is traveling to the Monterey Peninsula on Wednesday to play the Pacific Grove Breakers, beginning at 6 p.m.

According to Bruins head coach Adam Barsenas, this will give his senior players one last chance to play a high school game and serve as an opportunity for his younger players to play under the lights.

“We have about 30 players and 10 of those guys are seniors,” Barsenas said. “The rest of our team is mostly juniors and sophomores. It is a young team and we are just preparing them for spring ball and for the fall season. It may be just one game for the season, but the boys and our coaches have enjoyed preparing for it.”

Senior players on the Bruins team include: Juan Novela (56); Diego Chan (74); Izaiah Mora (1); Danny Pantoja (12); Leo Hernandez (6); JD Lopez (11); Alejandro Hernandez (12); Ivan Torres (14); Xavier Espinoza (33); and Jose Chavez (99).

Assisting Barsenas for the game tonight are coaches Roger Pacheco (defensive coordinator); Gonzalo Ibarra (receivers coach); Javier Zavala (defensive line); and Adrian Trujillo (offensive line).
