SOLEDAD — An inmate who walked away from a minimum security facility at Salinas Valley State Prison (SVSP) in Soledad was apprehended Sept. 16 in San Francisco, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).
CDCR officials discovered 35-year-old Adam Beck missing Sept. 14 following a routine count at 5 a.m. when he was not in his assigned area as a dining worker.
Acting on information developed during the search for Beck, CDCR Special Services Unit officers located him at an apartment in San Francisco at about 4:17 p.m. on Monday. Beck was taken into custody without incident, according to the CDCR, and was transported back to SVSP.
Beck entered CDCR custody in September 2018 after receiving a four-year sentence for evading or attempting to evade a peace officer while driving recklessly and for carrying a concealed dirk or dagger in Placer County, according to CDCR, and was eligible for parole as early as December 2019.

California Highway Patrol, local law enforcement and CDCR officials are currently searching for Beck.
