He was born in Sacramento, CA to Ruben & Jessie Rodriguez. Lived in Salinas during his school years. Attended Alisal High. Went to Hartnell College and was involved in Track & Field. Worked in the Bay Area doing construction. Mainly helping to build new homes. Got married and had 4 children. He worked for the Salinas School District as a Handyman. His lungs got damaged when a water heater exploded on him. He lived in Gonzales-Soledad area the last 20 years of his life. He gave his children a good foundation while they were young. From there he was like Don Quixote, searching for the impossible dream.

He is survived by his children, Nicholas, Alisa,Theresa & Rachel. His Sister Martha, Brother-in-law Mark & Nephew Michael. His brother Roland, sister-in-law Esperanza, nephews Roley & Davani & niece Bridgette. His brother Hector died in 2006. His children Jessica & Gina are still alive. Gina had a baby. Jerry’s Mother Jessie Rivera died in 2004. She would of been a Great Grandmother. His Step-Father of over 50 years Richard Rivera is still alive. Jerry was a happy go lucky person. Very kind and enjoyed making jokes so that others would laugh.
