SOLEDAD — The Fourth Annual Soledad Hot Summer Days Car Show took place last Saturday in downtown Soledad, featuring hundreds of classic cars, great food and local entertainment.

The July 26 event was a collaboration of the Salinas Crusaders Car Club, the City of Soledad and the Soledad Police Department.

According to Salinas Crusaders President Frank Cortez, the club enjoys being able to contribute to Soledad and present awards to cars, trucks and bikes in multiple categories.

“We gave out trophies that were chosen by our club members and the City of Soledad also presented awards that were chosen by the City Council,” Cortez said. “This year we helped make money for the Soledad Recreation Program as that helps the youth of the community. As a nonprofit, we also help with funding for youth programs in Salinas. We all enjoy being part of this annual car show in Soledad.”

Categories of trophies given out by the Crusaders included: Low Rider, Mini Trucks, Imports, Street Muscle, Bikes, Originals and Best of Show.

Soledad City Council Member Evarista Banuelos praised everyone who came out to support the car show and the people that worked hard to make it a success.

“It was not only the classic cars that I enjoyed but our local community and visitors coming together to support this event,” Banuelos said. “A big shout-out to the Crusaders who helped put the car show together and all the City of Soledad staff who helped before and during the car show.”
