SALINAS VALLEY — South Monterey County high school track teams have one more Pacific Coast Athletic League dual meet left before entering the championship meet schedule.

In a meet that was held yesterday, the Gonzales Spartans competed against the host Greenfield Bruins, Pajaro Valley, Anzar and Pacific Collegiate.

King City will compete against Carmel and Hollister at Hollister on Thursday, and Soledad will battle Monterey and Everett Alvarez at the Eagles stadium.

Gonzales High competed last Friday at the O’Condon Invitational in Castroville. Bringing home medals were the following athletes: Elijah Minor, third in the discus; Robert Gutierrez, third in the high jump and the 4 x 100 relay; Alen Valdez, second in the 110 hurdles; and Bobby Bonilla, third in the 300 hurdles.

This Sunday, April 23, the Gonzales track and field team will host a tri-tip dinner takeout at Spartan Alley at Gonzales High School.
