SALINAS VALLEY — Pacific Coast Athletic League has announced the athletes that were selected to the boys’ and girls’ soccer and basketball All-League teams for the 2024-25 season.

Players were chosen by league coaches at divisional meetings. Following are the student-athletes from South Monterey County who made the All-League teams.

BOYS’ SOCCER

In the Gabilan Division, Anthony Zavala and Braulio Zuniga from Greenfield were first-team All-League players, and Daniel Altimirano and Irvin Hernandez were second-team All-League selections. Joaquin Velasquez was chosen to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship Team.

King City’s Johell Carrillo, Deon Rodriguez and Abiel Gomez were first-team All-League in the Mission Division, and Carrillo was also named to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship Team.

In the Cypress Division, league champion Gonzales forward Jorge Uribe was selected as the Most Valuable Player and teammate Jose Camacho was selected as the Offensive Player of the Year. Joining Uribe and Camacho as first-team All-League players were Omar Gonzalez and Ulisses Mancillas.

Gonzales second-team All-League players were Jorge Lara, Luis Benevides, Edgar Santiago and Luis Cabada.

Soledad’s Alfredo Garcia and Joshua Guzman were first-team All-League, and Jesus Ortiz and Jason Rico were second-team selections. 

Matthew Arreola of Gonzales and Esteban De Leon of Soledad were chosen to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship Team.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

In the Gabilan Division, Soledad’s Vanessa Aguilar, Belen Diaz and Giselle Zepeda were selected to the first-team All-League, and Michelle Aguilar, Maria Sanchez and Nicole Gonzalez were second-team players. Mariana Leon was chosen to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship Team.

Gonzales was the co-champion of the Cypress Division and had Alessandra Tejeda-Ochoa and Grecia Valdez-Cisneros selected as first-team All-League. Tejeda-Ochoa was the division’s Most Valuable Player.

Chosen for second-team All-League from Gonzales were Valerie Oliva-Cardenas, Jennifer Fajardo, Alitzel Mauro-Perez and Adilene Cortez-Lopez. Isabella Camargo was selected to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship Team.

Greenfield’s Aundrea Sanchez and Kimberly Zavala were picked as first-team All-League players, and Isabella Calderon and Aideliz Moreno were second-team All-League players. Ailyn Salazar was chosen to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship Team.

King City’s Destiny Mosqueda was a first-team All-League selection and Iran Ibarra was a second-team All-League player. Isabella Hernandez-Swift was chosen to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship Team.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

In the Cypress Division, Pablo Morales and Pedro Morales of Soledad were chosen first-team All-League, along with Naythen Hernandez of Greenfield.

Johnny Miranda and Chris Morris of Greenfield and Anikan Tavarez of Soledad were second-team All-League selections.

South Monterey County players chosen to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship Team were: Bryan Villegas (Soledad), Frankie Hernandez (Greenfield), Cesar Caledon (King City) and Ray Blanco (Gonzales).

GIRLS’ BASKETBALL

Delylah Ocampo of Soledad was selected as a second-team All-League player for the Gabilan Division, and teammate Jessica Morales was chosen to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship Team.

In the Cypress Division, Amity Hearne of King City and Aleena Salas were first-team All-League selections. Jocelyn Romero of King City and Lesley Santiago of Greenfield were second-team All-League selections.

Mikayla Mclane and Jocelyn Mendoza of Greenfield were chosen to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship Team.

Gonzales player Angelina Navarro was co-MVP in the Santa Lucia Division with Shekinah Williams of division champion Marina. Navarro and teammate Evelyn Perea were chosen as first-team All-League players.

Ailette Reyes and Jackie Camacho of Gonzales were second-team All-League, and Priscilla Hurtado was named to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship Team.
