SALINAS VALLEY — Creativity, sustainability and community spirit will take center stage March 19 at the 2026 South County Trashion Show, Alliance on Aging’s largest annual fundraiser benefiting seniors across Monterey County.
The luncheon and runway event will be held inside the Orradre Building at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds in King City, featuring imaginative fashion designs made from repurposed materials, such as candy wrappers, coffee bags, newspapers and rubber tires.
“The result is an unforgettable showcase where art, fashion and environmental awareness come together for a meaningful cause,” said Nicki Pasculli, director of development for Alliance on Aging.
The event begins at 11 a.m. with a silent auction and art show, followed by lunch and the runway show at noon.
Proceeds support programs for older adults throughout Monterey County, offered in both English and Spanish, including Medicare assistance, senior peer counseling, long-term care advocacy, tax help, community education and activities at The HUB.
The South County Trashion Show draws local artists, community leaders and supporters each year and has become a signature event highlighting innovation while supporting seniors.
“The Trashion Show transforms everyday materials into one-of-a-kind runway designs,” according to organizers. “Local artists showcase imaginative fashion creations that blend art, environmental awareness and advocacy for seniors.”
