Megan Hunter

SOLEDAD — Soledad City Council voted unanimously to approve Megan Hunter as the new city manager on April 19.

Hunter was selected after an extensive recruitment process, which included identification of key attributes and characteristics of the ideal city manager, along with community and employee feedback, according to Mayor Anna Velazquez.

“Although we had many great candidates, Megan was selected for her vast experience and knowledge in planning, administration, code enforcement, project implementation, and housing and economic development,” Velazquez said. “With her leadership, the city will continue to advance its housing and economic development, improve quality of life for all residents and support and foster a team-oriented working environment. We are excited to welcome Megan and her family to the City of Soledad.”

Hunter is expected to begin her new role on May 15.

“I am honored to be selected by the Mayor and City Council as the next Soledad City Manager,” Hunter said. “So many great things are happening in Soledad. I look forward to supporting staff in advancing the Council goals and the community vision for the city.”
