SOLEDAD — Soledad City Council members signed a pledge to be tobacco and vape free, an initiative through the Sun Street Centers STEPS (Safe Teens Empowerment Project) and Blue Zones Project Monterey County programs, during their regular meeting April 5.
STEPS is a drug and alcohol prevention peer-to-peer mentoring after-school program for local high school students and community service volunteers.
The group recently participated in the Take Down Tobacco Day Cleanup at Vosti Park in Soledad on April 11, where they picked up more than 200 cigarette butts.
