SALINAS VALLEY — Many South Monterey County high school girls were chosen to the divisional all-league teams of the Pacific Coast Athletic League.
Soledad High led the local teams with five athletes chosen for the first team, including Giselle Zepeda as the Most Valuable Player and Mariana Leon as the Defensive Player of the Year.
Joining Zepeda and Leon on the first team of the Mission Division were Belen Diaz and Jennifer Troncoso. Precious Aguilera, Audrey Gonzalez, Alyssa Rico and Mayrin Amilpa were chosen to the Mission second team.
Diaz was chosen to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship team for the Central Coast Section finalists Lady Aztecs.
Gonzales High had three players chosen to the first team of the Santa Lucia Division. Valerie Oliva was chosen Most Valuable Offensive Player as a midfielder. Emily Ochoa and Katherine Toledo joined Oliva on the first team.
Lady Spartans on the second team included: Alessandra Tejeda, Grecia Valdez and Janelle Garcia. Isabella Camargo was a member of the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship team.
Greenfield High’s Andrea Marquez and Aundrea Sanchez were chosen to the first team of the Santa Lucia Division.
Lady Bruins on the second team were Kim Zavala and Aideliz Moreno. Destiny Hernandez was chosen to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship team.
In the Cypress Division, King City’s Destiny Mosqueda and Samantha Paramo were chosen to the all-league first team.
Lady Mustangs’ Lesley Arreola and Iran Ibarra were chosen to the second team. Ruby Morales was picked to the Richard Chamberlin Sportsmanship team.
